Each Olho Vivo Patrol module operates autonomously on the edge processor, but it's in the integration between them that the vehicle becomes a complete urban sensor. From plate reading to accessibility inventory, all data is captured, processed, and transmitted in a single pass.

License Plate Reading (OCR)

Automatic Recognition in Motion

The proprietary Aretron OCR engine processes vehicle license plate images in real time, directly on the hardware embedded in the vehicle. High-resolution lateral cameras capture plates on both sides of the road simultaneously, even at speeds up to 60 km/h, in rain, at night, or with intense solar reflections.

The system processes between 3,000 and 5,000 plates per hour in normal urban operation. Each reading is instantly cross-referenced with the local database (Blue Zone, restricted vehicles, SINESP alerts). The 98.7% accuracy is achieved through specific training with Brazilian plates in both old and Mercosur standards.

A dedicated internal camera continuously monitors the driver's attention state through AI facial analysis. The system detects signs of drowsiness, distraction, cell phone use, and micro-sleeps before they pose real risk. Audio and visual alerts are issued instantly to the driver.

Automatic Urban Road Inventory

The urban stewardship module uses computer vision to automatically identify and classify pavement defects (potholes, cracks, undulations), worn horizontal signage (faded lanes, unpainted speed bumps), and damaged vertical signage (crooked, illegible, or missing signs).

Each detected defect is georeferenced with centimetric precision and classified by severity according to DNIT criteria. Native Facial Anonymization at the Edge

Every image captured by Olho Vivo Patrol goes through an anonymization pipeline before any storage or transmission. Faces of pedestrians and vehicle occupants receive irreversible AI-generated blur directly on the edge processor, inside the vehicle. No identifiable face leaves the device.

The system was designed from the ground up for compliance with LGPD (Brazil), GDPR (Europe), and ISO 27701. Anonymization is not a filter applied afterward: it is an intrinsic part of the processing architecture.

AreaChain

Immutable Digital Chain of Custody

AreaChain is the Areatec immutable record system that ensures the digital chain of custody for all evidence produced by Olho Vivo Patrol. Each record (photo, plate reading, GPS coordinate, telemetry data) receives a unique cryptographic signature at the moment of capture and is stored immutably.
