What was deployed
São Paulo has the largest metered parking operation in the country, today run by a major industry operator. Behind the enforcement of that operation is Areatec: it is our technology that equips the automatic license-plate reading (OCR) vehicles that patrol the city's streets identifying paid spaces and violations.
It is the world's largest OCR vehicle fleet running on Areatec technology. Operating at this scale, in one of the densest cities on the planet, is the trial by fire that prepares our enforcement for any municipality in Brazil: reading accuracy, volume and reliability tested every day on the street.
Since 1996, Areatec has been one of Brazil's leaders in traffic enforcement and metered parking technology, present in more than 200 municipalities. It is certified under SENATRAN Ordinance No. 984/2023.
