Occupancy intelligence
multi-layer
Every city is different, so AreaDetect doesn't rely on a single sensor. It combines data from several sources and shows spot occupancy in the most accurate way for each place, with Areatec's own IoT.
Why every municipality is unique
Every city has a different profile. Financial profile, traffic engineering profile, parking space occupancy profile. Some operate with hundreds of spaces in a concentrated commercial area. Others distribute thousands of spaces along dozens of kilometers of roads.
Solutions that measure occupancy cannot be the same for everyone. A municipality with a restricted budget needs a different approach than one that already has camera infrastructure installed. A city with an active enforcement fleet can extract occupancy data as a byproduct of the work it already does.
With this in mind, Areatec has evolved over the years from the only possible option (pavement sensors) to a complete platform that collects data from various sources and allows the occupancy rate to be indicated in the best way for each reality.
Geographical profile
Concentrated commercial area or spaces distributed across dozens of kilometers of urban roads.
Financial profile
Available budget for infrastructure, investment capacity in cutting-edge technology, or the need for progressive solutions.
Operational profile
Presence or absence of an enforcement fleet, cameras already installed, technical team available for maintenance.
4 layers. One platform.
Each layer collects occupancy data in a different way. Together or separately, they feed a unified index that reflects the city's reality in real time.
IoT Pavement Sensors
Long-Range IoT
Sensors embedded directly into the asphalt that detect the presence of vehicles through magnetism and ultrasound. Each unit monitors an individual space with absolute precision, communicating the status in real time through long-range IoT communication with proprietary Areatec firmware and SyncRealTime technology.

Fixed Cameras + Aretron AI
Embedded Edge AI
Cameras installed on poles and urban structures that use Aretron, Areatec's proprietary artificial intelligence. A single camera monitors dozens of spaces simultaneously through advanced computer vision. All processing happens at the edge (edge AI), without relying on a constant connection to the cloud.

Olho Vivo Patrol + Aretron AI
ALPR in motion
Vehicles equipped with high-resolution cameras travel the city streets continuously capturing data. The in-motion ALPR system achieves 98.7% accuracy in license plate recognition, while Aretron processes the data in real time to map the occupancy of entire streets during the route. Occupancy data emerges as a natural byproduct of enforcement.

Olho Vivo Enforcement
Human component
Traffic agents equipped with the Olho Vivo application record the occupancy of spaces during their enforcement work. Each record feeds the occupancy index in real time, transforming human presence in the field into another reliable data source. The human component complements the technology and ensures coverage even in areas without installed infrastructure.

Combine the layers according to the reality of your city
The municipality can have all solutions working together or, according to its profile and through a detailed engineering study, use one or some of the available options. Modularity is the differentiator that allows starting simple and evolving progressively.
Municipality with initial budget
Starts with what it already has. Field agents feed the occupancy index using only the Olho Vivo application. Zero investment in infrastructure.
Municipality with enforcement fleet
OCR vehicles already in operation start generating occupancy data as a byproduct. Combined with the agents, they cover the entire city.
Municipality with critical area
High-turnover zones receive sensors for individual precision. Cameras cover larger areas with lower cost per space.
Complete coverage
All layers working together. Data redundancy, total coverage, and the most precise occupancy index possible.
Continuous evolution in technology
From simple sensors to a complete occupancy intelligence platform. Each stage built upon the previous one, with technology validated in real production.
Pavement sensors
Start of operations with individual magnetic sensors per space. Areatec was one of the first Brazilian companies to implement this technology at scale.
National expansion
Areatec sensors start operating in dozens of Brazilian municipalities, consolidating the company as a reference in parking monitoring.
Olho Vivo Patrol
The vehicle-embedded enforcement system is born. OCR cameras capture license plates in motion and generate occupancy data as a byproduct.
Electronic Ticket Book
Complete digitization of the enforcement process. Field agents start feeding occupancy data in real time through the application.
Cameras with Edge AI
Embedded processing allows a single camera to monitor dozens of spaces simultaneously, without relying on a connection to the cloud.
Aretron AI
Areatec's proprietary artificial intelligence is born. Advanced computer vision and high-accuracy OCR in a single platform.
AreaDetect Platform
Unification of the 4 layers into a multi-layer occupancy intelligence platform. All sources converge into a single index.
All sources. One index.
Regardless of how many layers are active, the data converges into a single occupancy intelligence dashboard. Georeferenced map, historical analytics, and an open API for integration with third-party systems.
Real-time occupancy map
Georeferenced visualization with the status of each space, block face, and zone. Continuous update regardless of the data source.
Analytics and history
Occupancy time series, turnover patterns, demand forecasts, and reports for decision-making in traffic engineering.
Open API for integration
Standardized RESTful endpoints for integration with driver applications, management dashboards, and third-party systems like Google Maps and Waze.
