Being a doctor on a home visit does not, by itself, create a nationwide exemption from Zona Azul. If a private vehicle remains in a rotational parking space, the driver must activate parking unless the municipality has issued a valid, specific authorization for that situation.
A clinically urgent visit does not automatically turn a private car into an emergency vehicle under traffic law. It is also important to distinguish a brief stop for boarding or alighting from parking while a consultation takes place.
Can a local permit exist?
Yes. A city may create a credential, dedicated space or exemption for registered professionals. That rule applies only where it was formally adopted and only under its stated conditions.
Before the visit:
- read the street signs;
- check the city's official rule;
- confirm whether a home-visit credential exists and is valid;
- without a specific permit, activate rotational parking normally.
A professional badge left on the dashboard does not replace municipal authorization.
