Yes, but do not rely on a generic 30-day deadline. The date printed on the document is the one that matters because a municipal warning, prior defense and formal appeal are different stages.
Identify the document first
- Administrative warning or post-use fee: a local procedure, where adopted, with the channel and deadline shown on the notice.
- Notice of violation: opens the period for a prior defense against the traffic record.
- Penalty notice: opens the first-instance appeal, normally heard by JARI.
- JARI decision: may allow a second-instance appeal when applicable.
Gather the full notice, vehicle documents, payment or activation receipt, plate, date, time and area, plus any images or protocols that support your account. A receipt for another plate, city, area or time does not prove this event.
Submit through the authority and channel named on the notice. Read the deadline on each communication; it prevails over any general guide.
