There is no reliable annual estimate based only on population. Two cities of similar size can have completely different numbers of spaces, rates, operating hours and occupancy.
Publishing an “average” without a defined dataset would create false precision.
The figures that matter
A proper analysis needs at least the number of active spaces, rate and duration, charged days and hours, occupancy and turnover by area, exemptions, non-payment, post-use fees and any period when the operation expanded or stopped.
It must also distinguish:
- Gross collection: all amounts paid by users.
- Municipal revenue or transfer: the portion owed to the municipality under the agreement.
- Operator result: revenue after operating costs, taxes, investment and obligations.
To find the official number, consult the municipal transparency portal, budget reports, contracts and inspection reports. For concessions, look for the collection and transfer statements required by the tender.
A trustworthy figure identifies the period, source, accounting concept and scope. The city's population alone answers none of those questions.
